No module cv2 error

Hi, I am trying to use your tool but after the installation it gave out an error saying "no module cv2". I tried pip install opencv-python manually, but it gave out another "getting requirement of building wheel error". I finally found a solution is to use opencv-contrib-python. So I think this solution may help someone else.

Hi I am having the same issue with the No module cv2 error and then I tried the solution on top but it said that my python was out of date. Could someone help?

I think the true answer here is probably migrating this code to python3, I will check everything is supported and then start the process in another branch. If anyone is interested in helping feel free to reach out (kyle@yellowbasket.io) to coordinate efforts.

Is this tool runnable in python 3 yet? I can't get this running in a virtual environment with python 2.7 because I don't have the MS Visual C++ compiler for 2.7 and it's no longer supported. Any sense when this might be ready? Or other workarounds? I would love to try out this tool!

Hello @eshau18 - we haven't started the porting process for python 3 yet. One potential workaround is to use the WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) and install Ubuntu - this does seem to install/work okay on linux systems (it will still complain about you using python 2.7 when you use pip but everything should still work). Let me know if you run into any issues.

When you try to install the C++ compiler does it just not let you?
