[Bug]: Racerooms, black screen on startup.

I believe theres an issue with racerooms (R3E), on game boot, audio comes through but zero video. I'm not 100% if ots xrizer but I believe the game is only OpenVR. In the log for xrizer there were lots of warnings spammed about Texture loading, DirectX.

Have done the shortcuts for resetting the view in game and theres only a black screen. Audio passthrough works AND head movement seems to be coming through too. I am able to display VR video of left eye on monitor (game input).

Can someone test this out to see if its a priblem with my system, WiVRn or Xrizer.

it happens with various vr layers on linux. ive reproduced the black screen using, alvr, wivrn,... So its not a problem with your system. raceroom engine is basically still DX9, sometimes for lowering cpu limits on windows wrapped to a special dxvk translator depending on starting parameters. Maybe the root of the problem...

I wasted about 6 hours trying to trouble shoot, google, discord, you name it. I do wish Xrizer had an spreadsheet of known games that has issues. This would have helped.

Good to know its not my system though. Thought skmething was wrong with my setup.

Just added one. I have never heard of that website before! Good looking out. Hopefully more peoppe become aware of it, would be handy to have more like that to help with playability. I know protondb exists but that doesnt cover VR

I did a bit more testing. The output on the monitor works perfectly, although it would make sense to assign a hotkey to activate it. There are also brief periods of a few hundred milliseconds where an image is displayed in the HMD. For example, when starting a session while the track and the pits menu are loading. You can trigger this, for instance, by switching the graphics settings in the menu from “Windowed” to “Windowed/Borderless.” In that case it passes a frame to the VR headset, but that frame then remains “frozen” on the headset’s screen.

I was able to put what should be on the monitor on screen using the hotkey too.

I did also see the brief glimpse of a frame in the headset but nothong else. This is correct.
