The third input for makeEcModel is the modelAdapter structure. From your code it is not clear what params refer to when you run makeEcModel(model,false,params);.

But, in most cases you do not need to specify the modelAdapter (so just run makeEcModel(model,false)), as long as you have specified the modelAdapter file as exemplified in the tutorial:
