Welcome to the tcpcc wiki! We are soliciting comments and feedback on this pre-release draft. A summary of the current todo-list is recorded here:
Chapter 1
- Section 1.1: Reconcile throughput curve with power curve in Section 3.2.
Chapter 2
- Throughout: Look for opportunities to either trim material or strengthen the connection to congestion.
Chapter 3
-
Section 3.1 The discussion of DASH seems somewhat redundant with 7.4. The later section seems like the more appropriate place since that's where we also talk about QUIC and TFRC.
-
Section 3.2: Talk about the lack of a rigorous definition for stability, persistent queues, and how that impacts our ability to make purely quantitative comparisons.
-
Section 3.3:
- Should we give concrete measures of harm?
Chapter 4
- Section 4.5: A figure (receive buffer with gaps) might be helpful for both SACK and NewReno.
Chapter 5
-
Section 5.2: Currently incomplete.
- Talk about Westwood here or in 7.2 (with LEDBAT)?
- Talk about NV here on in 7.1 (with DCTCP)?
-
Section 5.3: Discussion of BBR is too thin, and misses recent changes. [first pass done]
Chapter 6
Chapter 7
- Consider adding a section on OnRamp
- Section 7.4: Complete section on TCP Friendliness (reconcile DASH discussion with 3.1) [first pass done]
Chapter 8
- Potentially include a chapter devoted to evaluation tools.
