Feature - Multitrack recording

In the fceux TASEditor manual, it mentions Multitrack recording.

Does TAStudio have this feature? Or a way to "lock" inputs so they don't get rewritten?

My usage case is to do a quick record of a player's movement across a stage then, go back and tighten up the route, then repeat with the next player.

You should be able to do that with the "Recording mode" checkbox, but you'll have to manually rebind your controls (assuming you meant recording inputs with a gamepad) when switching players.

I have things setup so I can record up to all 4 (NES) controllers off of 1 physical controller (using a controller to keyboard program).

"Now during the Recording the emulator will accept only the chosen player's button presses, and the Piano Roll columns for other pads won't change even if you accidentally press another player's buttons."

Is my "issue" when recording, I set p2 for a path, I change to the p3 binding, it see nothing being input in p2 and writes those as now being not a press. Also, p1 is bound to the direct controller inputs, so those get mangled.

Recording mode for only some columns seems like the same request as #2232.

Similar in function, it is even in the same "box" of the UI.

The main idea is isolating the recording by player. The Multitrack feature of fceux's TAS Editor allows for specifically not recoding inputs (or the absence of an input and deleting existing ones) for one or more players (ie. 1P off, 2P off, 3P on, 4P off) while at the same time allowing recoding for the intended player (in example - 3P).

The Superimpose feature mentioned in the other thread also does not prevent new inputs from being recorded.
It does save already existing inputs, so only half of what Multitrack is doing.

If there was a way to lock individual input columns, I could get by with that.

With fceux's Multitrack I can have all 4 NES controllers bound to the same inputs from my xbox controller (direct, no re-mapping), and just have TAS Editor ignore those inputs for the 3 players I do not want doing anything.

Multitrack does seem like it'd be useful for multiplayer/multi-system (multi-Game Boy, among others?) And yeah, looking at the FCEUX screenshot, it does seem like it's distinct from superimpose inputs, since I think it's a matter of selecting the 1p, 2p, etc. radio buttons.
