Using IP phones as smart speakers?

Currently I'm using a separate python script that invokes its own copy of Piper to send announcements to phones. With a SIP header on these phones, I can force them to auto-answer incoming calls (but I can also send it as a regular call that must be picked up to listen).

Essentially I'm just wondering if there'd be any mileage to implementing similar smart speaker functionality in the Asterisk addon.

I understand if it's considered out of scope (since it also requires changes to extensions to work), but I wanted to ask nonetheless.
