doesn’t work for newly created groups until Obsidian is restarted

Hi! First of all, thank you for this plugin — this feature has been long-awaited and it’s already making Canvas navigation much smoother.

Description

• Problem: when creating a new group inside a .canvas, the “Copy link to group” option does not produce a link; the context menu entry appears, but the action doesn’t work. It only starts working for that new group after fully restarting Obsidian (or reloading plugins).
• Expected: after creating a group, “Copy link to group” should immediately copy a link like [[MyCanvas.canvas#GroupName]].

Steps to reproduce

1. Open an existing canvas.
2. Create a new group.
3. Right-click the group and choose “Copy link to group.”
4. Result: no link is copied and no success notification is shown; after restarting Obsidian, the link can be copied for the same group.

Thank you for using this plugin and reporting this issue! Sorry for the delay, I didn’t receive a notification about this issue being opened...
I’ve just tested this using the latest version of Obsidian (1.9.14) , but I wasn’t able to reproduce the problem. Could you please try again with the newest Obsidian version? If the issue still happens, would you mind sharing some more details, such as your OS and any steps to reliably trigger the problem? (I am using Win 11)

Also, some other plug-in might be in conflict with this one, try making a new empty vault and installing this plug-in in there and test.

I had the same issue. After defining a group in canvas, when I "Copy Link to Group" I get an error message stating that the thing is not a group. (Sorry, I don't recall exact wording and I don't have the plugin installed anymore so I can't easily call it back up.)

I have reproduced this in the Sandbox Vault, where no other community plugins are running, so I don't think it is a plugin conflict.

I am running Obsidian 1.9.14 on Mac OS 15.7.1 (Sequoia). Perhaps this is a MacOS issue?
