TYPO3 12/13 LTS with MariaDB 11.8.x

Hi,

currently the requirements for TYPO3 12 LTS and 13 LTS are set for MariaDB <= 11.0.0.

In Debian 13 MariaDB is shipped in version 11.8.2 Will this version be supported by TYPO3 12 LTS and the upcoming 13 LTS as well?

@urz-hgw I'm not sure about 11.8, but 11.4 works fine for me with TYPO3 13 and it is defacto the default in the TYPO3 GitLab Template for ddev: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/project-templates/typo3-distribution/-/commit/2e5e3f81349ea3575fd45c087aa3346e4b4ccba8

I'm not sure how to proof which versions are really supported

@schliesser Thanks for your reply, I also did some tests with 11.8 and it worked fine so far (without looking into it too deep)

I don't know how to proof it either, mostly because a lot of it depends on the dbal version which is used (which should be ok, since dbal v3.9 added MariaDB 11.8 support and v3.10 started to support VECTOR, so TYPO3 v12 should also be fine), but it would be more assuring if the official requirements say the same.

MariaDB <= 11.0.0 was never officially communicated and added with the equal sign back than due to a misstake.

MariaDB >11 support is not officially announced yet due to having breaking core functional with some of the 11.x.x versions which needs to be tackled first. Albeit it seems to work in instances. There is nothing in place to prevent this.
