Currently, users can pin an output tab to prevent data loss. However, this requires a manual step—clicking the pin icon—which can sometimes be overlooked. In such cases, previously executed queries must be rerun to restore their output, which is inefficient and time‑consuming.
In contrast, tools like DBeaver provide a built‑in option to automatically open new output tabs without closing existing ones. Introducing a similar capability would eliminate the need for manual pinning, ensure query results are preserved by default, and improve overall usability.
