UI Design: Unify tab columns into one collapsible tab column for space efficiency.

The current UI takes up lots of space:

I think it would be better to have only one tab column instead of two.

Ideally you could also define an icon for each tab and then make the single tab bar collapsible so that all tabs are in the top level together with settings in one unified column.

• When collapsed, the icon should show a popover with the full name on hover (this could simply be a title attribute).
• When the user is too lazy to set an icon, then it could show the first letter of the name as the icon.

I think what we will do is have the plugin tab be the same as the main one, we plan to add a bunch of other tabs on the main sidebar, which will be framework agnostic so we want to be clear what's what. But there will be a definite redesign on the plugin tab!
