Unit testing without DOM/window object

Hi, I know react-test-renderer is deprecated by now, but since of the lack of feasible alternatives it is still my preferred solution for unit testing. Right now I’m trying to test a component that makes use of some router hooks. But unfortunately it fails because the Transitioner component uses unconditional access to window in a useLayoutEffect component. Ideally the Transitioner component can be changed to only use window when it is actually defined.

Has anyone else encountered this? Is there any workaround available, maybe someway to bypass the Transitioner completely during test?

I’ve made some progress. After updating to @tanstack/react-router to 1.46.8 the Transitioner is no longer used within RouterContextProvider. So I was able to use RouterContextProvider directly, togther with matchContext.Provider as described here to render my component under test without Transitioner. But unfortunately my component under test uses the Meta component from @tanstack/start which has the same problem, to use document in useLayoutEffect unconditionally.

With the latest version 1.51.6 unit testing with react-test-renderer works fine.
