Tanstack Start -references to nonexistent useSession function in Authentication doc

The Authentication guide has a Session Management section showing a "useSession" function. this appears to no longer exist (from global searching 'useSession' in the repo). What is the newer approach recommended for this?

semi-related, I see that the Clerk tanstack start SDK uses the undocumented getGlobalStartContext function. Is this meant to be public-facing / is it safe to use?
