Any idea when v7 might be deprecated?

We are currently using v7 and wondering if there is an immediate need to upgrade to v8 sooner than later.

It already most likely won't be getting any future updates. That's been true for a while. You should still be able to use it though. I even have used old v7 tables in the same projects as new V8 tables. It can be a gradual migration.
