Combining same ingredients from multiple steps

I like adding ingredients per step (ie 1pinch of salt on step 1, and 2 pinches of salt on step 3).

This currently results in a double entry in the overall ingredients: I'll see two separate entries, 1 pinch (from step 1) and 2 pinches (from step 3).

I am wondering if there is a way to avoid this behavior, I think it would make sense to combine the amounts in a single entry (it's easier to imagine this when it comes to - say - tomatoes).

Any input or recommendation?
