Hi, You are not making any mistake here. These audio recordings are not served by the API for legal reasons. The current contributors of audio recordings in Mandarin Chinese are fucongcong and GlossaMatik. At the time they contributed these recordings, Tatoeba had no proper Terms of Service, the functionality was pretty basic and audio authorship wasn’t tracked at all. Only years later support for proper attribution and authorship was added to Tatoeba (#1378), and audio contributors were formally asked under what license they wanted to publish their recordings. Some of these contributors, including fucongcong and GlossaMatik, are currently yet to choose a license for their audio recordings. According to copyright law, the "default" is that all rights are reserved, so these recordings cannot be re-used. To make this limitation clear to everyone, the API was designed not to serve these recordings. One way to go about this problem is to contact fucongcong and GlossaMatik to ask them to release their audio under Creative Commons. To do so, they just need to login, open the above links (the page that says "You may not reuse the following audio recordings outside the Tatoeba project"), and there will be a setting on the right to choose a license. There are several licenses available and we can add more if needed. |

When I go to https://api.tatoeba.org/unstable#?route=get-/unstable/audio and enter
cmnas the language code with all other fields blank, I get the responseOther language codes (e.g.
rus, deu, eng) give back a large number of results. When I go through the search like so https://tatoeba.org/en/sentences/search?from=cmn&has_audio=yes&list=&native=&original=&orphans=no&query=&sort=relevance&sort_reverse=&tags=&to=eng&trans_filter=limit&trans_has_audio=&trans_link=&trans_orphan=&trans_to=eng&trans_unapproved=&trans_user=&unapproved=no&user=&word_count_max=&word_count_min=1 there are 1746 sentences found.Am I missing something here?
