Is there any way to open TikTok or Facebook videos with NewPipe (on Android), since they can be downloaded with YouTube-dl?

I dont think there is any way to do that.
But I would suggest that you use yt-dlp witht termux or maybe search around for free downloader websites for that ( not sure if truly available or not ).

And regarding the feature, I wanna say I dont think making extra requests for features right now is great, as because the newpipe devs seem to be really busy and they have also stated to rewrite the newpipe app slowly as the codebase has become cluttered.

So maybe using other tools for these tasks would be a better option! As NewPipe is mainly for streaming videos not for downloading content from a thousand different platforms :)

Moreover Newpipe doesn't use Youtube-dl to extract, it uses its own Extractor

This is a real feature request, though, since public videos from TikTok and Facebook aren't viewable on Android without an account, while they are on PC... This is a real shortcoming!
And even though NewPipe isn't based on YouTube-dl (or rather, yt-dlp), since it's free software, you can get away with it! Right?

But there's a real shortcoming, a real request! It's a shame to miss out! Right?

C'est Pourtant une vraie demande de fonctionnalité, puisque les vidéos publiques de TikTok et Facebook ne sont pas visibles sur Android sans compte, alors qu'elles le sont sur PC... Il s'agit d'un vrai manque!
Et même si NewPipe, ne se base pas sur Youtube-dl (ou plutôt yt-dlp), comme il s'agit de logiciel Libre, vous pouvez vous en expirer! Non ?

Mais là, y a vrais manque, une vraie demande! C'est dommage de passer à côté! Non ?
