Why does this make sense to anyone? Blocking the scraper bots makes no sense, as there is a much better solution available.

Seriously, why would you want to block them, when the much better way to deal with them is to profit from them by hitting them with a paywall response that provides a crypto, Stripe, or PayPal link that tells them they are more than welcome to scrape your site for X amount of dollars?

There's already a project here on GitHub to do exactly that, as why lose the chance to profit off of them?
