console.input to a specific layout

Hello!

I'm trying to have my console.input() be printed to a specific layout in a Live view. Currently, whenever I use console.input(), it prints it at the bottom and moves the Live view up some causing it to be cutoff. What I'd like is to have console.input() print to my footer so the Live view isn't moved on the screen. Is that at all possible? It would be great if it was!
