Question about TextArea word left

I'm not sure if this is a bug or I'm just misunderstanding what is meant by "word left".

According to the TextArea docstring, the ctrl+left binding should "Move the cursor left by a single word, skipping trailing whitespace."

Is the behaviour when pressing ctrl+left with the app below expected, or is this a bug? If this is working as expected, could you clarify what is meant by word left?
