In short, if you have a class that extends Widget:

class MyWidget(Widget):
    def compose(self) -> ComposeResult:
        yield Button("Hello, World!")

with TabbedContent("MyWidget"):
    yield MyWidget() # MyWidget is not displayed in the MyWidget tab.

It's not that tabbed content is not working with custom widget.
The issue lies in the height property of your custom widget. By default it's set to None from what I know

You can add height: auto or height: <your specific requirement> but usually auto gets the job done most of the time
Or better - Use Static widget as base which already has this

Helps to keep the import clean as well :D

class MyWidget(Static):
    def compose(self) -> ComposeResult:
        yield Button("Hello, World!")

with TabbedContent("MyWidget"):
    yield MyWidget() # MyWidget is not displayed in the MyWidget tab.
