Authenticating with ollama

Hi - I am trying to get this setup for my team. I have setup a private ollama server and installed the zjoule addon in my eclipse. When I input the URL correctly and hit "Next" - nothing happens.

If I input an incorrect URL i get an error message so I'm pretty sure I am doing it correctly and it just isn't connecting. I am looking like for help on understanding what the problem could be. Appreciate any suggestions!

Hey @adfarris ! I will ask you for some verifications, ok?

1. What Eclipse version you are using?

You can get the eclipse version through the "Help" (last button in the toolbar on Windows) or "Eclipse" (first button in the toolbar on Mac). Make sure the version you are using is either 2024-09 or 2024-12. These are the two compatible versions.

2. Check what models you have available in your Ollama:

In your terminal, try to run the following command:

ollama list

Send me a screenshot of your terminal with the name of the model you are using. I will test on my end and make sure the model is going to be available for you and your team.

Hi @adfarris ! Did you check the Ollama model? I suspect that you installed Ollama but didn't download any model. Please let me know if you still need help, otherwise I will close this discussion thread.

Hi Nick! Thanks for the follow-up, and my apologize for not responding. The powers that be asked me to actually develop my own plug-in rather than use an outside one.

For the record, I was using llama3.1 on eclipse 2024-12. I was able to curl to the server and get responses from the model so there wasn't anything wrong that I could see. It's possible that my company security setup was blocking it in some way.....

Anyway, keep coding on!
