Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS Local Installation Error

I wanted to try building ORFS from a locally in a fresh Ubuntu 22.04.5 VM and I get the following error after running:

sudo ./setup.sh
./build_openroad.sh --local

As detailed in the installation instructions.

It looks like the source of this error is here:

When running the Env.sh script it also showed that cmake was not on my path and the version of OpenROAD was outdated.

Expected Behavior

Expected openroad to build locally and not return error.

I saw something similar on a system with two different versions of gtest installed. You might check for that

I have the same issue on Ubuntu 24.04 with the current master branch 697fa28.

I do not have another gtest installed locally, it just gets installed with the dependencies in OpenROAD via etc/DependencyInstaller.sh.

Sorry for late reply, yes I encountered the same situation as @mguthaus. I verified that no gtest was installed locally prior to running etc/DependencyInstaller.sh and got the same error

@QuantamHD any ideas? I'm guessing gtest is downloading a new version itself

Perhaps it comes from abc's

does removing that block and doing a clean build work?

Perhaps --openroad-args=-DENABLE_TESTS=OFF would work based on the OR issue.

Yes, disabling the tests works around the issue with:
./build_openroad.sh --local --openroad-args "-DENABLE_TESTS=OFF"

What exactly are we masking? as i also got the same error during my build creation

Confirmed, I am able to successfully build using the option
./build_openroad.sh --local --openroad-args "-DENABLE_TESTS=OFF"

Is "ENABLE_TEST" equivalent to DFT relsted settings?

Test here refers to unit testing OpenRoad not DFT
