Trigger I/O Control and Sample Code

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to control the trigger I/O on a DMK37UX290. I'd like to use it to turn an LED on and off.

I have a few questions:
・How can I control the trigger I/O?
・Are there any sample codes available?

First of all, you have to differentiate between trigger input and signal output. Which of those do you want to use?

DMK 37UX290 only supports global-reset trigger mode, which in most situations is hard to use. For serious triggering applications, a true global shutter sensor is usually the better choice.

If all you want is to manually toggle a LED, you can use the GPOut feature to control the state of the STROBE_OUT pin:

grabber.DevicePropertyMap.SetValue(ic4.PropId.GPOut, 1);
grabber.DevicePropertyMap.SetValue(ic4.PropId.GPOut, 0);

However, as described in the camera manual, the pin is an open drain output. That means you need an external power source to drive the LED.

Thank you for your prompt response and insightful information.
I would like to use the signal output to control the LED.

Regarding the global-reset trigger mode and rolling shutter, I have a few concerns:
・Could the rolling shutter introduce delays in the timing of the signal output, potentially affecting the accuracy of the LED control?
・If so, would it be necessary to introduce longer intervals between SetValue() commands to compensate for these delays?

I understand that the STROBE_OUT pin is an open-drain output and requires an external power source to drive the LED. Thank you for clarifying this.
