JS Path: Teach a front end framework like NextJS #29911

The Odin Project is about fundamentals, less about specific technologies and definitely not just because stuff is "popular" (because the ecosystem goes through trends, and what's popular will change in time). Because it's about fundamentals, it intentionally teaches things in certain orders because it wouldn't make sense to dive into stuff without experience in other things first. It would not make sense to dive into a hugely abstracted framework like NextJS without having enough fundamental experience in both front and back ends (it's not a front end framework, it's a full stack one). It's significantly easier to clearly teach actual back end concepts the way the Node course currently does - NextJS is not needed for that and would just serve to make things confusing. Then by the time someone completed the Node course, they really should not need TOP to hold their hand further with something like exploring NextJS or any other thing. It's not a fundamental skill needed to be hireable, and anyone wanting or needing to explore it should be more than capable of doing so themselves. |

Next is gaining a lot of popularity, so why not teach it as part of the full stack JS course?
