What is the shortcut to run a command chunk ?

Mac key board.
I can add a chunk (cmd+option+I), but cant find the way to run a chunk.
Also is it possible to run all chunk below (or above) a la RStudio ?

I would also like to implement it, but currently I haven't figured out how I can do it. If anyone finds a solution please submit a PR!

Maybe my question wasn't so clear.

• Is there a way to run a chunk (just one) I guess there is else how do you do to run a .Rmd (or is it that the only way is by knitting the whole notebook ?)

• Is it possible to run multiple chunks (all chunks below/all chunks above) ?

I understand the first on is a yet to implement option. But I guess the first point has a solution ?

Like the 'knit' button (or Cmd+shift+K) in RStudio, the way knitting the entire notebook in this extension works is by calling the R function rmarkdown::render().

Running individual code chunks in RStudio has a different mechanism. RStudio itself maintains a live R session (the console window which is in the bottom left panel by default), and when you click the green 'play button' (or Cmd+return) at a code chunk, RStudio copies the code in the code chunk into the live session, executes it, and pastes the result below the code chunk.

Thus, in order to get the full RStudio feeling, a live R session in VS Code is needed, which I haven't found a solution yet.

Pasting the result, especially plots, below relevant code chunks, will be another challege. I haven't come across any VS Code extensions that insert non-text into the editor.

It would be nice to be able to run line by line too, not just chunks.

I agree, the integration with [this extension](with https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=Ikuyadeu.r) would be ideal.
