videos sometimes start in clip mode

sometimes, after opening a video, it would be in "clip" mode.
it's especially annoying because cancelling out of this changes the current video position to what it was when clip mode was invoked.
I can't replicate this, but it's fairly frequent.

I know what you mean, but I haven't found a way to deal with this yet. I'm not opening it, so either YouTube changes, for example, the info panel to the clip panel, or there's another reason why YouTube's opening it. I also tried to auto-close it when the script loads, but the clip panel still opened sometimes. It hasn't happened for me in a while, though.

I tested it with Chrome and the default settings while being logged in. I navigated to a couple of videos and reloaded the page. The clip panel never opened. Is there anything else you can tell me or a way for you to reliably reproduce it? Also, when the clip panel is open and you click to another tab, does the clip panel stay open? I think that when I had the problem, the info panel was replaced by the clip panel.

Tried it with Firefox just now. Went to YouTube, restored to default settings, and clicked on a random video, then just picked a couple of other videos from the videos tab. The clip panel never opened.

You could try replacing [USER_CONFIG.videoTabView, () => initialRun ? requestIdleCallback(tabView) : tabView()], with either [USER_CONFIG.videoTabView, () => setTimeout(tabView, 5000)], or [USER_CONFIG.videoTabView, () => setTimeout(tabView, 10000)], to give YouTube five or ten seconds to settle down before the tab view function runs.

Or to wait with the entire script, you can add await new Promise(r => setTimeout(r, 5000)) right behind async function initializeAlchemy() { like

What does the clip panel do with those changes?
And when you have the tab view setting disabled, the clip panel stays closed the entire time?
