# No git-lfs here. These three patterns used to carry
# `filter=lfs diff=lfs merge=lfs`, but nothing was ever stored in LFS -- `git
# lfs ls-files` returned nothing while 46 tracked images sat in the repo as
# ordinary binaries. The filter therefore did nothing except report every one
# of them as modified on every checkout, and that noise was not harmless: a
# `git add -u` swept four of those phantom modifications in and committed
# 130-byte pointer files over real PNGs, one of them the docs landing-page
# figure.
#
# Worth knowing if LFS is ever reintroduced deliberately: `-c
# filter.lfs.clean=cat` does NOT disable the filter, because
# `filter.lfs.process` takes precedence and silently wins. Both must be
# unset, and the result checked with `git cat-file -s`.
#
# `binary` is kept: it is shorthand for `-diff -merge -text`, so these files
# stay marked binary exactly as the `-text` on the old lines did, and git does
# no end-of-line translation on them.
