fio: equivalent of ogrmerge?

Is there a way to replace ogrmerge with Fiona's CLI? Something like fio cat INPUTS... OUTPUT would be intuitive to me, although it would break backwards compatibility. Maybe instead we could create a new fio merge command.

Maybe fio cat INPUTS... | fio load OUTPUT?

The output of fio cat can be piped to fio load to create new concatenated datasets.
