Errors updating

Hey I'm trying to update from 093 to 101

And i get many errors. I haven't done anything special in my terrain. I don't do anything special anywhere really. Since i can't seem to decipher these errors maybe it means something to one of you?

You didn't install it properly. Godot isn't loading the binary library because you didn't do the exact right steps. The first error message tells you it can't find the file. You should be using the console version of Godot. This is an incomplete list of errors. Read the docs for troubleshooting/console, and installation and upgrade.

OK - downloading from assetlib instead yields a much bigger collection of files. 40mb compared to the 11mb of whatever comes from Git.

After reloading godot, there is now terrain again. And i can see that it is the new version. But ALL textures are gone from the terrain.

That isn't the console version of Godot. As I said in the first message, the troubleshooting page shows you:

You're missing important error messages at the beginning.

hovering over the now missing terrain node it says that the class Terrain3D no longer exists.

Yes, I told you Godot can't find the Terrain3D DLL file. Maybe you downloaded the source instead of a binary, but ultimately it's not installed properly. The console will give you more error messages. It will give you a file path where the file is missing. You can look on your file system and see that you don't have the file it's expecting.

Whatever you did to install the new version isn't correct. The installation instructions need to be reviewed. Most likely you didn't download the binary release.

But ALL textures are gone from the terrain.

The textures are still painted in your data. Did your asset list load? You had previously saved it as a tres, right? What happens when you reconnect it into the assets slot? Worse case you recreate your assets.tres, but I doubt that's necessary.

i got all backed up. so itll be ok for sure. I'll have a good hard look at all of this. thanks for the help toki. I appreciate it.
