Built-in Calendar questions

How can I add events with specific hours in the calendar and is it possible to make them repeat weekly etc (as in Google Calendar?). I am working on a custom plugin, a calendar from scratch with Google Calendar sync integration and I was wondering if the built-in calendar already has these features.

The built-in calendar in Trilium Notes does support events with specific hours and minutes, but this is only available in custom calendar views—not in the default Journal calendar, which is limited to day-level notes. To add hourly events, you need to create your own calendar view and then drag across a time frame to create a new event with start and end times. However, interactive editing like dragging or resizing events is currently limited in the UI, and recurring events (such as weekly repeats) are not natively supported or documented in the built-in calendar. @dosu is right in the sense that date & time are supported for events in the Calendar view, where each note is an event. This will set an appropriate attribute for start time & end time. Recurring events are not supported yet, best approach is to add support for recurring events by contributing to the application, as opposed to a custom script (where getting the full calendar set up is also harder to achieve).

The relevant code for event creation and display is in the calendar_view.ts file, which manages how notes are turned into calendar events using these attributes and the FullCalendar library. There’s currently no code handling recurrence, so this would be a new feature to implement in both the data model and UI logic.
