Images opened in new tabs do not show up

Description

Opening an image in a new tab (ctrl+clicking on it) shows only a blank background.

Refreshing the frontend makes the image opened in the focused tab appear, serving as a temporary fix, but it also makes all images in unfocused open tabs go blank.

This appears to be related to a known issue. Issue #7901 reports similar behavior where content fails to render when opening notes in background tabs via Ctrl+Click, but displays correctly when opened in the current tab.

There's also Issue #2278 which describes images unloading when focus switches between panes, which may be related to the behavior you're seeing with unfocused tabs going blank.

While v0.102.1 included fixes for PDF and file rendering (PR #8961), those specifically addressed PDF viewer issues rather than standard inline image rendering in tabs. The background tab rendering issue appears to still be open without a complete fix.
