graceful KVM shutdown hangs with OpenBSD guest

My OpenBSD guest completely hangs after sending it the shutdown signal:

  # echo system_powerdown | nc -U /tmp/webserver.monitor

This issue was reproduced by Robert Mustacchi on an Intel setup (I'm using AMD).
