how to avoid tgsheducler start background task when gearbox tgshell?

hi.
In my turbogears project, I use tgsheduler to start some background task, it run nice. Everything is good, except these background task will also start such as when I run "gearbox tgshell ", which is not my intention. Someone suggest I can check sys.argv variable, however I may deploy this project with some wsgi server in the future, which make this issue more complicate.
Is there an ultimate solution?
