Maybe clean up dependence on FillArrays.jl? #131
Description
Relating to After #119 we were discussing whether we wanted to rely on FillArrays.jl like this or not, but decided to do so for now.
Opening an issue to keep remind ourselves that this is something we might want to have another look at down the line.
