Workflow Question: Granular control for Singles & avoiding duplicate Artists with Deezer source

I wanted to start a discussion regarding the workflow for monitoring specific release types and how Tubifarry handles metadata from additional sources like Deezer.

My Goal

I am trying to achieve a specific library setup:

1. Global Default: By default, I want all artists to only monitor/search for Studio Albums and EPs.
2. Manual Exceptions: I want the ability to add Singles for specific artists at my discretion manually, without enabling singles globally for my entire library (which creates too much clutter).

The Problem

Currently, I am attempting to use the Deezer integration to fetch these specific singles. However, I am running into a duplication issue:

• I have an artist already existing in my library (sourced via standard MusicBrainz metadata).
• When I want to add singles for this artist, I attempt to use the Deezer source.
• Result: This adds the artist as a completely new entry in Lidarr/Filesystem.
• Consequence: I end up with duplicate artist folders on my disk (one for the standard MusicBrainz entry, one for the new Deezer entry).

Questions

1. Is there a recommended workflow to "merge" the Deezer metadata into an existing artist so I can just toggle "Singles" on for that artist?
2. Is it possible to have the Deezer source populate the metadata for an existing MusicBrainz-based artist entry, rather than treating it as a distinct foreign artist?
3. If this isn't currently possible, is there a specific configuration setting I might be missing to link these two IDs?

Any advice on how to handle "Singles-only-for-some-artists" without creating duplicate filesystem entries would be appreciated!

I’m not entirely sure how Deezer maps EPs and similar releases to Lidarr, I’d need to check the Deezer mapping helper for that. What’s important to note is that a Deezer artist is treated as a separate identity, a distinct source of truth. However, if the MusicBrainz artist has a Deezer link set, you can use Meta Mix to add any missing albums from Deezer into Lidarr’s MusicBrainz artist entry

I think i've noticed Meta Mix doesn't respect metadata profiles, for instance, i dont want compilation albums, but when mixing in Deezer metadata, it still brings in and monitors Compilations that are clearly marked so in the Deezer artist page? im wondering if that's an issue with my configuration or maybe a limitation of Meta Mix?

I don't think I have a compilation mapping at all. Deezer just does it based on titles. If you could give an example, I can look into it to see if the API provides data, that I can use match it with the compilation type.

is an album that is a compilation album but is listed under the "Compilations" heading rather than "Albums" on the Artist page.

Found the issue, as said it is juts tile matching and it did not yet have a matching part for it. Fixed in next release
