Connecting AC Chargers and Inverters: Device ID Management #37

That's interesting. With the latest Sig firmware, Modbus does not seem to be working for me on the AC charger. Sig support had it set to slave ID 2 and it connected fine with the beta firmware. I was always addressing the inverter and EVAC on the same IP but inverter had slave ID 1 and EVAC slave ID 2. Slave ID 2 is no longer working for me (even with the non-HACs version). I've opened a ticket with Sig support. |

For me the Inverter and the AC charger are reachable via the same IP adress and the same slave ID: 2 The access to the AC charger had to be enabled by the Sigen Support |

It's strange because auto-discovery discovered the ACEV on a different IP to the inverter and when I tried to add it with either slave ID 1 or 2 the entities were always 'unavailable'. |

Hi, "If you have activated modbus on your SigenStor, you do not need to activate it separately on your EVAC as EVAC uses the All-in-One-Link". Sooooo I do not see the EVAC though. it is connected via LAN. Any ideas how to fix that? SigenStor modbus is activated and working fine. |

From memory there's a FAQ on how you have to set the modbus id on the evac to 1 and the others to a different number. Could your sigenstor be set to ID 1?

Hi,
I opened a ticket with Sigen support to enable ModBus on my EVAC, but they did answer (translated):
"If you have activated modbus on your SigenStor, you do not need to activate it separately on your EVAC as EVAC uses the All-in-One-Link".
Sooooo I do not see the EVAC though. Any ideas how to fix that?
SigenStor modbus is activated and working fine.

What's the process to change the ID of the Inverter from 1 to 2? I already had it all setup with Inverted on ID1, but today had the AC charger installed. Is it simply a case of re-running the home assistant configuration again for the inverter and change to ID 2, or there's something specifically I need to change the ID on the inverter itself? Have looked through the sigen app but can't find any reference. |

Not sure how my ac charger is reporting OK over modbus, but it appears to be. The slave ID on mine is set to 2 ( not sure how managed to get that set ! ) |

I noticed this YT for installers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_91_K65ftQ says to just set it to any random value and ukblaster seems to have it working with the EVAC set to 2. @TypQxQ Is this a new feature that sig has pushed out to make it easier to change? Is it a strict requirement that the inverter ID is lower than the EVAC ID? |

Mine has inverter set as id 1 and charger set as id 2.

Alrighty then. I’ll ask my installer to try setting it to 2 as per the
video and report back if it works.

Oyher interesting feature. Checking my integration settings the ac charger
is shown in there with same ip address as the inverter. However, it has its
own ip addresd diffrrent to invertet. So I suspect the modbus is controlled
via the inverter ip address . Hope thst mskes sense.
Ie. All ip addresses listed plant, inverter , ac charger are the ip address
of the inverter.
I slso.managed to get occp working and stsrted a charge / got stats using
HA but for now gone back yo using sigenergy app for tgat.

Each inverter and AC charger must have a unique Device ID. The AC charger is set to Device ID 1 by default, and changing it is more complicated, so the Inverter’s Device ID will often be adjusted instead.
To connect to the Inverter, use Device ID 2 and its IP address.
To connect to the AC Charger, use Device ID 1 but still use the Inverter's IP address.
If you have a second Inverter, assign it a different Device ID, like 3, and connect it to the first Inverter's IP address.
This ensures proper communication between the devices.
