Summary of Our DP2 Submission

Our Design Portfolio II is complete and submitted. We did a ton of work this cycle, including:

• Functional and Non-Functional Requirements: Defined 18 core features (UC1–UC18), such as Pomodoro Timer, Booking System, Messaging, and Gamified Pet Catalog.
• Architecture & Diagrams: Implemented 3-tier architecture (ReactJS frontend, Django backend, SQLite data layer). Two diagrams are live:
  • Architectural Diagram
  • Application Tier Model Diagram
• Motivation Backed by Research: We referenced 4 research papers on gamification, reinforcement learning, parental involvement, and mobile ed-tech.

Dev Planning & PR Reminders

Here’s how we keep GitHub activity aligned with grading criteria:

• Each Feature = Issue + UML Diagram + PR
  • Use use-case/UC10-pomodoro, etc. as branch naming convention.
  • Diagrams must be linked in PR descriptions.
• PR Requirements:
  • Clear scope: what changed and why.
  • Link to the GitHub Issue.
  • Add AI code annotations if used (see below).
• Every team member should aim for:
  • 3 meaningful PRs for DP2
  • 3 meaningful peer reviews for DP2
