Accessibility - Main - Alphabetic Table Index with VoiceOver

While reading through the alphabetic table index with VoiceOver, I liked how the screen moved down with the given section of cities/metro areas, but when I selected a letter with VoiceOver the screen scrolled all the way back to the top of the screen.

It would be great if you focused the user on that part of the list for the letter they choose.

The iOS application "Contacts" has similar behavior.

I will check with my accessibility friends if they have an example or what gestures I might need to use to get that to work which might be helpful as a note/description in the being of the index.

Looks like a better way to do this has not been found for the latest version of the BLS Local Data iOS application.
