You are overloading the 5V supply from the usb port. There is a diode on the STM32 board which drops some voltage, depending on the port and cable and what you have connected to the driver the voltage may drop too low for it to function. Another option is a hardware defect on the driver or incorrect encoder connection shorting the 5V supply. Try other usb cables or carefully supply the driver board externally. (The TMC4671 driver board has its own DC converter, if you supply VM it generates stable 5V) |

Hey thanks for that i disconnected everything and ran the driver board on a external power supply and it shows up again after reconnecting it so it seems to be something external. |

Hi got a weird issue when i plug in just the micro controller the board shows up as expected however when driver board is plugged in usb is no longer detected wondering if it could be some kind of short or if i have a jumper that is not soldered on the board there is a 3v3 jumper near the connector that i am not sure about checked to make sure that there was no short between 3v3 and ground and there is not just wondering if anyone has ran into this issue before on the 3v3 line with no motor or anything attached it is drawing 250ma thought i would throw this in here in case that is not normal.
Regards jesse
