Can an analytical calculation of LCL be implemented?

Has the Romps (2017) exact analytical solution of LCL been considered? It would remove the need for iterations as in the current lcl function.

It has definitely been considered! We've had an open issue for this for quite some time (#626), but issues relating to differences in output values as well as differing thermodynamic constants has put any implementation in MetPy itself on hold.
