Choose other port numbers

According to the documentations:
Configure iptables to allow TCP connections on ports 9581 and 9582 if you want to serve data publicly to CAVE clients and the Python API.

Can I choose other ports instead of the recommended ports in the documentations?

Is it possible by modifying /awips2/edex/bin/setup.env?

No matter if I change HTTP_PORT in /awips2/edex/bin/setup.env from 9582 to something else. It keeps using 9582 as the httpd port:
