Description
So, I opened my T-962 which I have been using successfully since 2007. It was FULL of masking tape... there is a fiberglass (as in molded piece) that has masking tape fully covering every square inch and over that is a very flimsy foil. I removed all of the masking tape and foil (all brown from years of use). I replaced it with tape we use in the UAV industry for minimizing the temperature from jet exhaust blast on the fuselage. It's a thick foil that is about 3" wide. Works amazing! I did an empty chamber full run and I was surprised to see that the display showed the temperature following the profile extremely well (not the case previously as it was all over the place). The version I have just has a giant fan in the back that sucks air in and blows it over the top/bottom of drawer. I don't have a small fan on the size of the unit like later model T-962's do.
I looked at the board I have and it is a dual board setup, not a single board. The location for the 4.7K resistor is actually occupied by two other parts (a cap and a 10K resistor). See attached picture. Has anyone determine if these parts should be removed and the cold junction mod done?
