pkg(scope): uninstalling com.miui.powerkeeper twice caused bootloop despite no Mi Account #1284

Description

Describe the problem

After the first "uninstall" I reboot to find that powerkeeper wasn't uninstalled. I uninstalled it again and reboot again, resulting in a bootloop. Attempting Safe Mode didn't work. Had to wipe data. The two "Success" uninstall attempts are located at lines 1188 and 1206, at the very bottom of the log. Details:

  • Redmi 10 running Android 13 and MIUI 14. unrooted and bootloader locked.
  • tested after fresh factory reset (via Settings) with no accounts, no internet, no Mi Account, no data. Sim card inserted but mobile data off.
  • USB debugging on
  • USB debugging (Security Settings) off

You have a solution?

place com.miui.powerkeeper warning for this phone and likely other Xiaomi devices with the same android/MIUI version, as they may all be affected. I suspect many people "uninstalled" once thinking it actually worked.
