Is there any way to copy a visual selection to a specific register?

Hello,
I'm really somewhat new to git and stuff like that and I would love to know if there is any way to yank a visual selection (so lines I selected in visual mode) to a specific register. I did notice that it is possible to yank something into the default register.
Sorry for the weird basic question, but I couldn't find anything about this.

Edit:
This has been solved. I havent used much visual code yet and it just overlapped with keybindings from a different plugin.
