Mapping j to move by display line makes dj stop working

I've followed https://github.com/VSCodeVim/Vim#-faq to use

in order to move cursor by display line. However, this makes motions like dj stop working.

I tried to change vim.mode == 'Normal' above to vim.mode != 'OperatorPendingMode' but it doesn't have any effect, likely because after pressing d the editor still stays in the normal mode for some reason.
