Yeah you can use Git from the terminal as usually. But the plugin provides integration with the editor and other UI integrations. It also support periodic commits and such which are surely possible via terminal as well, but more uncommon. |

Hi,
first and foremost, i do not want to badmouth the plugin at all. I can see that it has an extensive list of great features :)
I was just wondering, if i technically needed it. All I was seeing were GUI buttons for functions, that are present in the CLI.
Can I just back up my git from the shell directly with the same results?
