We could backport vitruvian to older kernels #147

Description

@Numerio

Right now we are just updating our code as needed when there are updates to APIs or kernel interfaces. However it's very likely, most of our code can run up to linux 3.x, maybe even linux 2.6.x. We wouldn't probably include this in the main branch as it would lead to worsened code quality, however if that were done cleanly as as set of patches, it would be useful to be able to run V\OS on devices where installing new kernels or flashing is problematic. It is also useful in case there are no sources available for a driver so installing a newever kernel is not an option.
