Change Launch Profiles

Is it Possible(How) to change the selected Launch Profile ?

we are appending an Launch Profile to the launchSettings.json
but how can we change the selected Lauch Setting which is started from Visual Studio by code ?

Currently we are just swaping out the launchSettings.json
which only contains the Profile we want to start. After Done we swap it back.
Net very smart so far :(
