Hi, would it be possible to create a Decky plugin to download Proton versions and update to the latest version without going to the desktop? (Proton-GE-latest, Cachyos-latest)

If you install Proton-GE Latest or any latest version you can open ProtonPlus in Steam and update it without having to restart.

Either way you will always have to restart Steam when installing a new version.

The only plugin on the store doesn't support CachyOS, and my goal is to update the versions to the latest one, without adding a fix.

The best idea would be to use it from Steam, but it's not usable with a controller; you have to use a mouse.

Controller support is a planned feature for my application. I just need to find the motivation to do it lol.

It's a desktop PC connected to my TV, so it's a console-like device.
