Other than a few like "gatehub" and "hi..." the empty alts are intentional. You'll see the alt attribute is present but doesn't have text. This means it adds no value for a user with a screen reader. Most of the items have clear headings and links so the images would not add value (to know we have an illustration of a person sitting at a laptop for instance is not valuable). The empty alt attributes tell screen readers to skip it.
